Building and finishing works
Plastering, carpentry, tiling, flooring and decorating are the trades you look at every day. We take finishing packages on their own, not only as part of a larger build: bathrooms and kitchens fitted, staircases rebuilt, skirting and architrave matched to the original profile, and full redecoration.

Plastering
Skim over existing, full re-render and skim, or lime plaster on solid walls that need to breathe. Flat is not the same as level, and on a 130 year old house you often want a wall that reads flat by eye rather than one that is theoretically true and looks wrong next to the original cornice.
Joinery
Skirting, architrave, picture rail and door casings run to match the existing profile. If a section of your original moulding survives anywhere in the house we take a template from it and have it run, rather than fitting the nearest thing on the merchant shelf.
Tiling and floors
Wet room tanking, underfloor heating over insulation boards, engineered board over an acoustic layer, or an original pine floor lifted, cleaned, re-laid and finished. On period floors we relay the boards rather than sanding the life out of them.
Decoration
Proper preparation: filled, caulked, sanded and dust removed before anything is opened. Mineral or breathable finishes on lime, conventional systems everywhere else.
What people ask about this work
Will you take on finishing work without the building work?
Yes. Plastering, joinery, tiling, flooring and decorating are taken on as packages in their own right, including bathrooms and kitchens. We are equally happy fitting a kitchen you have bought elsewhere.
Can you match original skirting and architrave?
If a section of the original moulding survives anywhere in the house, we take a template from it and have the profile run to match. Fitting the nearest thing on the merchant shelf is what makes a refurbished period house look wrong in a way people notice without being able to say why.
Tell us what you are trying to do with the house.
We will come out, measure up and tell you honestly whether it works. The site visit and the written quotation are free, and there is no obligation attached to either.
